The aim of this story is to develop a narrative of the Gandak which highlights the river’s journey from its source to its final destination, looking at historic settlements and sites that have a strong association with the river.
Additionally, the story is focussed on understanding the evolving relationship of cultural heritage sites with respect to riverscapes. Lastly, an attempt has also been made towards documenting the intangible cultural practices that are associated with the river and have strong ties with the local community.
